Comms Strategy
Fashion Revolution
At the start of my year acting as Vice President for the society, I created a visual communication strategy focused on improving our digital presence.
The main objectives were to raise awareness of our society amongst students, and to also increase engagement (from both members and non-members).
I started by creating an Instagram post which provided information about our society (our values, the larger Fashion Revolution movement, how to get involved, etc.). This then evolved into a stronger brand identity, which was then used to inform the visual presentation of flyers (to be handed out at Fresher's Fair) and the subsequent social media aesthetic.
Alongside this, I also developed an informal 'tone of voice' guideline for our written communications; there was a lot of emphasis on accessible language with a touch of humour! The goal with this was to communicate with our members in a way that resonated with them- not be seen as authoritative or exclusionary.
Overall, it was a success! As a society, we saw increased engagement on Instagram, and the social feed became more visually cohesive.
