Fashion Marketing & Branding
Live Brief: Aromatherapy Associates
This was a live project brief with Aromatherapy Associates. Working as a group, we were tasked with identifying an opportunity to communicate scent in a digital world, with a focus on innovation. Looking at the trajectory of the beauty industry, and adjacent markets, we identified that the ‘Sleep Wellness’ market was growing- albeit oversaturated. This meant that we had to create a solution which stood out, was innovative, and also brand-relevant.
In the end, we got shortlisted to present our concept directly to the brand! Scroll down to find out more...

Live Brief: Aromatherapy Associates
The final concept we presented to the brand was a fully-smart and responsive diffuser (inspired by the brand’s best-selling product), which could sync up with a personal smart device and release scents throughout the night to aid the user through their sleep cycle. Alongside the diffuser, I prototyped an app which functioned as a ‘sleep hub’; users could see their personal sleep trends, receive tailored recommendations to improve sleep, as well as monitor their diffuser and set timers.
Individually, I was responsible for completing the market research, and identifying the opportunity through synthesising all our findings, as well as working out all the functions and details of the concept. To further support the final presentation, I also calculated some financial projections to showcase to the brand the potential earning opportunity from the proposed concept.
As a result, the brand loved the idea and we received lots of positive feedback. Although we didn’t win, we received an honorary mention, and the experience was invaluable. I’ve included all the slides that I worked on individually, these can be seen to the left!

Live Brief: Aromatherapy Associates
Before presenting our final concept to the brand, we had to create an ‘adcept’- an A3 poster detailing our concept. All of the posters were put together and voted on by the groups, and our concept placed joint-first with another group!
For the adcept, it was key to retain the essential information of the concept whilst not overloading the viewer with information- and also making it visually appealing. The final poster can be seen here.
Another group member and I were responsible for completing the adcept.
